I believe that therapy should not be squeezed into a “one-size-fits-all” approach. I value diversity and I am open to being versatile in our therapeutic space to suit your needs. This means I appreciate hearing your input, as I bring in my training from different therapeutic frameworks including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and person-centred therapy (PCT), with regular discussion on how we are supporting your needs. To gain the most out of therapy, I would like you to feel comfortable and understood as we work towards your goals. This means that I take time to get to know you and your experiences at your pace. This helps to co-create a psychological formulation, and collaboratively determine a therapeutic plan which works for you. I came to Corinne at the start of this year as I was really struggling with many aspects in my life, leading to a very dark and very low period that I could not navigate. Therapy was suggested to me through my GP. I was apprehensive as I had never took part in Therapy before and with my anxiety, I was unsure how beneficial it would be as I was likely not to open up or talk as I needed to. From our first session to our last, Corinne made me feel completely at ease and I soon found myself talking openly and getting many issues off my chest. Through our sessions together I am in a much better mindframe with the troubles I had at the beginning of the year very much under control. I have gained skills and lessons that I will carry through life and I fully intend to continue checking in with Corinne, having easily built up a relationship in an enviroment where I feel safe to discuss anything that my be affecting me. My counselling experience with Corinne has been extremely positive and nothing short of life-changing. From the very first session, she created a space that felt safe, warm, and genuinely supportive. At 23, I’ve always found it difficult to open up about the things that weigh on me, but with Corinne’s empathy, kindness, and understanding, I’ve been able to share parts of myself I never thought I could. She listens in a way that makes me feel truly heard, and she often relates to my struggles in ways that remind me I’m not alone in what I’m going through. This sense of connection has been incredibly healing and has given me a confidence I never expected to find. I have just finished a block of sessions with Corinne. I must admit I was a little sceptical before starting I thought I was fine and coping well after a really harrowing year for myself and my immediate family. 5 minutes into the first session it was abundantly clear that I was not coping at all. Corinne listened through all my tears and it felt so good to let it all out. Corinne has provided me with the tools to cope when I feel completely overwhelmed and made me realise how I was feeling was completely understandable and that I can get through it and cope with things.
